Fire Engines for Ukraine Face Unexpected Hurdles
So those following out most recent delivery to support the firefighters in Ukraine May like to know that the 3 fully equipped fire engines have reached the border crossing in Poland at Korczowa in record time.
Due to the amazing assistance of the Polish Fire Service in the region, they managed to get to the front of the queue and started to process the vehicles and paperwork. However - due to a brand new system call RMPD - they have been sitting on the border for 6 hours already with the Polish Border Guards demanding they pay an almost £14,000 fine to pass through - and even then they need to wait until Monday to pay.
Despite the enormous efforts of the Polish FS and MoI - the lads who are exhausted are waiting.
If any of our readers know senior level people in the Polish Border Customs- please ask them to see sense.
SERA filled out the forms they were asked to fill out - the border customs at Korczowa wanted a different form and have now stopped the delivery of much needed fire engines and equipment to UA firefighters
