Why Our Work Must Continue
It hasn’t even been a month since we delivered fire engines to Ukraine—one of them went directly to the village in the photos below.
Today, the village in Sumy Region stands as a grim reminder of why our work is so critical. A devastating airstrike has destroyed a section of a five-story residential building and damaged four apartment buildings.
Thanks to the bravery of local firefighters, 14 people were evacuated, including an elderly woman whose life was saved. But the cost is still heartbreaking: 10 people injured, 2 of them children, and countless lives shattered.
This is the reality for communities near the frontlines. They face unimaginable challenges daily, and their survival often depends on the resources we can provide. Fire engines, life-saving equipment, and support for these brave firefighters are not just necessary—they are urgent. Let’s keep working together to ensure no community is left without the resources they need to face these unimaginable hardships.
